Pyrargyrite with Quartz
Bote Mine, Zacatecas, Zacatecas, Mexico
Miniature, 3.5 x 3.5 x 2.0 cm
SOLD
A stunning pyrargyrite miniature for both aesthetics and the combination of luster and color! Perched very aesthetically against a roseate cluster of colorless quartz matrix is a doubly terminated, lustrous pyrargyrite crystal measuring 3.5 cm across. There are one or two bright red highlights visible in the pyrargyrite crystal even in no light. In strong backlighting, it glows red like a cuprite, throughout its length. This is a significant crystal for one of such size and luster. The termination is "fancy" for the species, complete and sharp, with luster. Comes with a custom lucite base. I was told this was from a freshly mined pocket in 2014, and it came to me from a mining geologist who purchased it in Mexico at that time.
