Miniature, 3.6 x 3.6 x 3.1 cm
Francon Quarry, near Montreal, Quebec, Canada

Perched aesthetically on matrix is a lustrous and translucent, light yellow crystal of weloganite measuring 2.6 cm in length. The crystal looks like it is amazing from the distance, but on close glance I believe the top is contacted (where it grew against pocket well) and is so priced down less than I paid for it. It is repaired at the point it meets the matrix, cleanly and acceptably - that is not a concern for me so much as the contact atop, in valuation for a rarity like this. It is, in any case, a fantastic display specimen from the major find and world's best find of this species, in the mid 1960s.
