This unusual specimen shows a very thin layer of sparkling, translucent plumbogummite coating elongated, thin pyromorphite crystals, creating a highly unique appearance with multiple colors. The white portions seem to be intergrown quartz, but are actually bits of the rocky quartz matrix behind, popping up through the coverage of pyro and plumbo. The overall effect here is very surreal, and in person it has a 3-dimensional depth not conveyed well in the photos. With only very minor damage to a few points, this large specimen is nearly pristine. It is sparkly throughout, and depending on the strength of the light passing through the plumbogummite coating can vary between blue and green as the light plays over the crystals. Minor damage is present on close examination, I should note, although it does not mar the overall impact.
