N'Chwaning III Mine, Kalahari, South Africa
Thumbnail, 1.8 x 1.7 x 0.6 cm
A rare matrix specimen, sadly one of only a few recovered when the miners scraped out this pocket. This larger specimen (for the find) displays better in person as it is hard to capture all the angles and reflections in the photo here. It has a dozen good crystals, many to 1 cm, on manganese gangue matrix. This is the richest single specimen we know of from the find, to date.
