Now this is a truly amazing crystal specimen. Here you see a quartz crystal and a topaz crystal so tightly intergrown that they look like 2 parts of the same crystal. But what happened was, the topaz and quartz grew at the same time, butting up against each other, witht the quartz wrapping itself around the topaz. In addition to The quartz has actually even grown up some of the faces of the topaz, as if trying to engulf it! The way the two crystals are embedded in the matrix suggests that this was not a case of one crystal forming, then another forming next to it later and wrapping around the first one -- but instead, it appears they grew in the pocket at the same time. Quite unusual and interesting! 6.7 x 7.3 x 4.1cm
