A burst of gemmy selenite crystals, shooting out in all directions, from Whyalla. What makes this specimen special, in addition to its remarkable appearance, is that while some species form crystals in thousands of years, these particular selenites form in a matter of only around TWO WEEKS - sort of like those experiments with salt crystals on a string you did when you were a kid.
