This is from the Kelly Mine, in New Mexico, home to smithsonite and aurichalcite. I have seen but a very few azurite specimens from here. I tend to trust Harold, too, as he lived and collected in the Southwest for over 30 years. This is a sparkly piece with intense, sugary brilliance to the surface. Ex. Harold Urish Collection.
