A beautiful and unique azurite "board" from the Cole Shaft at Bisbee. Very rare. Lustrous, scalloped, light and dark sky-blue layered azurite rests on a thin matrix plate. The botryoidal azurite "eyes" at the base are a superb accent and look just like alligator or trilobite eyes. A truly fascinating and unusual specimen. The very rich Cole Shaft produced ore intermittently from 1905 to 1975. This is only the second such example, so far replaced, I have seen.
