Any new find of crystallized azurite causes excitement, and this recent find in Mexico was no exception. As in this case, most of the crystals formed in very shallow pockets, pressed against the pocket walls, so that the crystals are heavily contacted. Still, they are of significant size - to over 2 cm, and very sharp, You can see lustrous faces where the crystals were able to grow freely. Partial pseudomorphing to malachite adds the velvety green touches.
