Bismuthinite

Bismuthinite is a bismuth sulfide which occurs as orthorhombic, prismatic, silver-gray, metallic, crystals, also granular. Bismuthinite forms in low- to high-temperature hydrothermal vein deposits, and volcanic exhalation deposits. It was named in 1832 for its composition; the type locality is Cerro Tazna, Atocha-Quechisla district, Nor Chichas Province, Potosi Department, Bolivia. Other notable localities are:
