Plumboan Calcite Ps. Cerussite, on Calcite
Tsumeb Mine, Tsumeb, Otjikoto Region, Namibia
Miniature, 4.9 x 4.7 x 3.0 cm
SOLD
Superb pseudomorph of white Plumboan Calcite, resting on a matrix covered with dozens upon dozens of small, sharp white Calcite (or possibly Plumboan Calcite) crystals. The main crystal is lustrous, white Plumboan Calcite that clearly retains the sixling habit of the the original Cerussite. It is an amazing 4 cm across and 2.5 cm thick. Both the carbonates in either part of the specimen have excellent fluorescence. By any measure, this is a first-class pseudo. It is sharp, nearly pristine save for two small little dings, and very aesthetic. I have not seen its match. Better even in person.
