Here is a glassy and gemmy, spear-like, colorless, transparent Hydroboracite crystal from the Kohnstein Quarry, arguably the best locality for the species. Although many were found here between 2012-2015, it seems only a very few were gemmy, terminated, and fully formed IN THIS SIZE range. This crystal is just over two inches in length and an inch in width. These are world's best of species by far; the shape, clarity, and fancy termination makes pieces like this a level of rarity that can stand next to other gem species and hold its own. In person, this has a high level of refraction with outstanding luster and clarity. From the noted collection of Paul Stahl, a specialist in aesthetic rarities based in Mannheim, who was among the first to be able to buy these once they came to market.
