This is a large crystal of lazulite from finds in the late 1990s that literally redefined the species in crystal quality, producing gemmy crystals as you see here. It has not been repeated since; these are now legendary crystals, seldom seen for sale. This one turned up as we processed the very last of my purchases from Herb Obodda's old dealer stock, from when I bought out his inventory in 2008. At 69 grams of cutting quality carving rough, this is also a rare large crystal from an extremely important find, considered the single best finds for the species. This crystal has a fine front view, although is contacted on the sides. When backlit, it glows with a mix of blues and yellows.
