Totally glassy and gemmy, this gem-quality elbaite crystal is lucky to have not been sacrificed on the altar of cutting rough for easy and quick money by the miners. It exhibits a strange coloration, a faint yellow at the base, and an unusual maroon-rose color as you go up. It is an old specimen, and we do not have a mine name for it, although we know it is from Minas Gerais. 16.8 grams. It is most likely from Coronel Murta, where such colors are known rarely to occur.
