When these sharp green fluorites started to appear in the early 2000s, people lost their minds - the combination of sharpness and color was almost unheard of, and the crystals were so big and mined in such good condition, we could not believe it! I remember well. More and more came, for 2-3 years, and then they were gone....like everything else, a slice in time and space of the earth, and then there were no more. Some pockets had bigger or smaller crystals, more luster, more gemminess, etc etc. Some pockets had too much quartz overgrowth, or too little. This particular specimen is a perfectly balanced small cabinet/large miniature with amazing 360 degree aesthetics, and stands on that merit. But, more than that, it has the richest possible lime-green color combined with transparency (NOT merely translucency) - and that, was always rare, and remains more so. It is simply better than nearly all others in size class. Pics and video can only convey so much. We had the context of being there, seeing the finds, handling Charlie Key's collection and others - they NEVER made them this good and this sharp. While other examples are numerous out there, in the same size and approximate style, it is the small differences in quality of aesthetics combined with the transparency and color saturation, that make this special. The large crystal is to 2.6 cm on edge, by the way.
