Rarely do we see well-formed crystals of Prehnite like this from anywhere in the world, only at the Jeffrey Mine in Quebec, and then seldom in good condition or so gemmy in transparency. A dozen, razor-sharp, gemmy, nearly colorless, orthorhombic crystals make up this remarkable cluster. The satin lustered crystals have perfectly formed faces and are all nicely terminated. The 0.6 to 2.0 cm Prehnite crystals are also well isolated in the cluster and very distinct resulting in a an aesthetic and well balanced miniature. For added interest, a few tight sprays of of medium brown-green, hair- to needle-like crystals of Aegirine (var Acmite) grow outside of, and penetrate the interior of, the Prehnite crystals and are mostly localized on the back of the piece. This is a fantastic crystallized Prehnite miniature with unusual aesthetics, that most people would be hard pressed to even identify at first glance as a prehnite. The gemminess and clarity is striking, unusual for the species, and notable for the locality.
