From the type locality for buergerite, Mexquitic, comes this outstanding, rare specimen of the tourmaline group. Emplaced on matrix are long prismatic, lustrous and slightly translucent, chocolate brown buergerite crystals exhibiting the characteristic slight golden iridescence of the species. They reach to 2 cm in length and some exhibit interesting parallel growths. This is a major, display-quality specimen of this species. VERY rare variety of tourmaline, seldom seen, and from finds of the 1970s or previous.
