Very aesthetic miniature of the rare, and equally famous, triangular mineral Benitoite - with a HUGE FREESTANDING CRYSTAL! This cluster is dominated by a single, blue, 2.2 cm Benitoite crystal that sits perfectly atop the etched matrix. There are several smaller crystals on the piece. Some crystals, including the larger one, are a rich, deep blue with definite gemminess to them. There are even fine inclusions of the amphibole Crossite. The larger crystal does have some contacting along the back, but this is a fine, representative specimen of the famous species Benitoite, and presents itself well. Classic bright fluorescence.
