This is very unusual material due to its very atypical habit for the species that comprises thick, tabular, creamy yellow crystals that are very three-dimensional compared to the typical thin, platy, pseudo-hexagonal, windowpane crystals. In person you can see subtle details such as multiple growth hillocks present on the pinacoid faces. Polysynthetic twinning may also be present. Unusual catapleite from a unique find in the 1980s or early 1990s at Mont Sainte Hilaire. Very attractive and unusual crystals from a one-time find! ex Charlie Key collection
