Important thick crystal of an unusual catapleite from a unique find in the 1980s or early 1990s at Mont Sainte Hilaire. This is very unusual material due to its very atypical habit for the species that comprises thick, tabular, creamy yellow crystals that are very three-dimensional compared to the typical thin, platy, pseudo-hexagonal, window pane crystals. For added crystallographic and artistic interest, prominent, multiple growth hillocks are present on the pinacoid faces. Polysynthetic twinning may also be present. This piece is quite different from the other catapleite in this update in that it is a great cluster of crystals ranging in size from 0.9 to 2.0 cm. Very attractive and unusual small miniature cluster from a one-time find! ex Charlie Key collection. This is a giant for this pocket, and style....
