Outstanding combination specimen of sparkling Celestine on Sulfur from Racalmuto, Sicily. The gemmy crystals of Celestine, which are quite translucent, seem to cover an earlier crystal or perhaps are a tower of small crystals in themselves - in either case the look is stalactitic and quite appealing. It grows on a matrix of Sulfur, and the Celestine is beautifully sparkly, with the surface coating of lustrous and gemmy Celestines that reach about 1 mm in size (atop the underlaying thicker celestine growth, also translucent). Distinct, aesthetic, unusual, and very high quality from this well-known region.
