Large, granular massive, glistening metallic, dark gray kentrolite is intergrown with minor disseminated calcite. Under the microscope, many of the kentrolite grains reveal themselves as <1mm, subhedral to euhedral crystals. A very hefty specimen of this lead manganese silicate from Langban, Filipstad, Varmland, Sweden. The label from the Swedish Museum indicates it was collected in 1898! Ex. Paulo Matioli collection.
