Impressive and robust, this rosette of bladed Polybasite is from the old locality of Jachymov in the Czech Republic. The lustrous, metallic blades average about 1.5 cm across, and they have a nice hexagonal form. Although there is some minor edge wear, there is no glaring problem when it is displayed head on, and for a piece over 100 years old, I can put up with some edge wear anyhow. Formerly in the collection of Dr. L Eger of Vienna and the University of Napoli Mineral Museum, as well as Giancarlo Fioravanti, this is certainly one of the better Polybasites one can obtain from these old mines of the Czech Republic. It is aesthetic and robust, with good 3-dimensionality comparable to some Mexican specimens. Note the beautiful old labels, as a bonus.
