Cabinet, 11.0 x 2.5 x 2.3 cm
Paprok, Nuristan Province, Afghanistan

I have seen many, many tourmalines from this region, but this one stands out as a bit different. The luster is superb, and it is pretty on its own merits. But the complex zoning and color combination, combined with the total transparency, make the piece something unique and special. It really is just a bit more "sparkly" in person. The contrast of the pink body and the termination is beautiful. It has, by accent, a small "hat" of little quartz crystals perched atop! 360 degrees, complete all around. 122 grams. Joe Budd photos
