The Sweet Home mine is famous for its Rhodochrosite specimens, but it has produced some very nice Fluorites as well. Richard Kosnar mined the Sweet Home for a few years during the late 1970s and managed to collect some excellent Rhodochrosite specimens. It features a gorgeous, two-tone purple and colorless, gem/gemmy, partial dodecahedron of Fluorite with good sharpness and luster. The piece is accented by small pink Rhodochrosite crystals and one tiny (about 1 mm), prismatic pale green Apatite crystal (shown in the close up photo). This piece is from one of the early pockets that Rich Kosnar opened when he started mining in 1977.
