Scholzite on Switzerite
Reaphook Hill, Flinders Range, Australia
Miniature, 4.2 x 3.1 x 2.7 cm
Ex. Martin Zinn
Another exceptionally rich example of this rare phosphate species (Ca and Zn-containing), from the classic locality for collectors if not the type locality itself. Specimens of this quality are few, and I have seen only 3 comparable for sale amidst a large selection of lesser quality and broken pieces over many years. This piece has acicular crystals to over 1 cm, some of them translucent, perched dramatically atop!
