Cabinet, 10.0 x 4.8 x 4.5 cm
A stunning cabinet example of the aragonites from this one-time find - not only beautiful, but an important new find of aragonite from anywhere, much less America. This super piece has a striking, mounded ball at one end of the aesthetic, elongate matrix. The ball is covered with tiny crystals growing like teeth on an earlier generation of sharp, larger crystals. This is not only a large specimen, but the crystals really stick up off the matrix in bold relief, in a series of interconnected bursts of crystals framed by the contrasting iron-rich matrix.
