A rich spray of bladed, pearlescent crystals, to 1.1 cm in length, has emanated from a dark sulfide matrix. The combination of the translucency of the crystals and the color contrast is awesome, making this one of the more visually fine tarbutites I have seen. I think now we've covered all three crystallographic styles known from the locality?! Named after Percy Coventry Tarbutt, a Director of the Broken Hill Exploration Company who collected some of the first specimens at Broken Hill (now Kabwe), Zambia
