MEXMAL-25
Malachite Ps. Azurite
Milpillas Mine, near Nacozari, Sonora, Mexico
Small Cabinet, 8.3 x 5.7 x 4.5 cm

This piece is stunning, in person. It consists of an unlikely cluster of seemingly "heavy" crystals perched one atop another on a natural pedestal of massive malachite at the base. The crystals are sharp and actually curvaceous for lack of a better word. They don't curve, but the overall arrangement gives the illusion of curvature. It is unlike anything from Tsumeb and is a style quite distinct from this mine, which I like very much. In person, its really just a dominating piece, one of the best of the pocket to my eyes.
