Highly aesthetic, this is a shocking example of the kind of machine-like precision of the crystals found in Itauz in the 1990s and early 2000s, complete and perfect all around. The specimen consists of a spinel twinned single crystal with a lovely patina, with sidecar crystals growing off of its length. Alex had this in his thumbnail collection of course, and it might be cheating a bit... it really IS a miniature, stood vertically. If you arrange it diagonally, it can barely fit into a thumbnail box but is really not properly a thumbnail specimen. It is, however, an exquisite miniature!
