Margabal Mine, Rodez, Aveyron, Occitane, France
Thumbnail, 1.8 x 1.8 x 0.7 cm
Ex. Bill & Anne Cook; Frank and Wendy Melanson

One of the sharpest, most machined-looking specimens of all thumbnails in this offering, this torbernite crystal from France has a "look" that somehow sets it apart. It is perfectly complete all around and is perched on a small bit of matrix as a pedestal. This piece, the stark aesthetics, combined with color and geometry in a perfect size, makes it a top competitive example of the species and worthy of the highest quality TN collections. While not terribly expensive compared to many gem crystals, silvers, golds, etc., this is killer for what it is and a major thumbnail specimen that punches visually beyond its normal weight as a species. (You can tell we are deeply impressed by it - it's really something to behold in person, hard to convey.)
