Here is a calcite locality and specimen that you do not see every day, something to surprise even the most jaded collector of calcites! This specimen is a cute small miniature with a shocking amber-orange colored calcite crystallization, in crystals to 2.5 cm, accented by velvety green malachite. Never seen another quite like it! This came out of a local Texas collection, and no telling how old it might be, but it is surely not contemporary or we would have seen more of them. It is sparkling and glassy, like a jewel.
