This is an important and large crystal for a Chinese azurite due to the combination of size, color, condition - and aesthetics. Rarely do we see textbook, colorful, isolated crystals of azurite of this size, from China (or anywhere, except Milpillas, Morocco, or Tsumeb in the past). It is highly unusual in that it is isolated, and more so that it is perched on matrix so nicely like a natural pedestal. Unlike many crystals from here that are more matte, or small intergrown crystals in carpets, the freestanding crystal is very lustrous, and complete all around without damage. This is a very large crystal for this particular locality, which I would say has given us the best Chinese azurite crystals, thus indicating a significance to this specimen beyond simply the location itself. It came out of a special single pocket in 2019 or early 2020.
