We see quite a few good Bisbee Mine Azurites on the market, even 100 years after its heyday, but rarely do we see many with the character this one has! This is a two-tone blue and green elongate piece that is completely hollow in the center! It is an Azurite and Malachite STALACTITE! It is beautifully crystallized with numerous, bright green, satin lustered botryoids of Malachite from 1 to 8 mm across festooned with small, 1.5 to 5 mm, scintillating crystals and clusters of royal blue Azurite. The piece is interesting as it seems to have some history paragenetically. This stalactite is completely hollow suggesting it is a cast of a pre-existing mineral, probably Calcite, that the Malachite was deposited on followed by Azurite. The Calcite was then completely dissolved leaving the Malachite-Azurite cast! A unique Bisbee piece! Old, probably turn of the 1900s.
