This doubly terminated gem crystal of Tremolite is from Badakhshan, Afghanistan and is out of the Kay Robertson collection, from acquisition sometime in the early 2000s at latest. It is a nicely formed, prismatic, essentially colorless and very gemmy. The prism faces are well developed and display a satin luster with distinct terminations at each end that are a little rough, but very good considering this was probably frozen in a contact metamorphic rock matrix at one time. These Tremolites are rarely available on the market and it is an unusual specimen from the region.
