Important, big, well formed veszelyite from anywhere are difficult to come by and the one on this combination specimen from China is exceptional! A single, deep teal-blue, nicely terminated veszelyite sits upright in a vug with starkly contrasting and sparkling bundles of hemimorphite and a few quartz crystals. The crystal is 1.6 cm tall, huge for a Chinese crystal of this style. Close inspection of the veszelyite reveals that there are a few crystals in parallel growth if you look at the back of the big crystal. Any incident light shows the bright blue internal reflections within veszelyite. One small vug on the piece shows tiny, bubbly, green-blue, botryoids of what we think are either pseudomalachite or kipushite. From a new area being worked in this mine in early 2021. Note that this is NOT the earlier reported locality for the species, also in Yunnan but somewhat to the south.
