This is a killer Tanzanian gem species thumbnail crystal with great gemminess and crystal form, that has literally thrown anybody I showed it to for a loop! This competition-level gem crystal of Magnesioaxinite (formerly Axinite var. Mg) has great presence for a small crystal with its rich, medium lavender-blue color, its gemminess and perfect crystallization. This is has a natural luster like glass and it has a tiny sidecar companion on one corner as an accent, adding to its appeal. The broad crystal face on one side has very fine striations to add subtle character. This gem crystal has a few internal fractures but is otherwise totally transparent. The pictures give you an idea of how good this thumbnail is, but it's much better in person. A rare gem species crystal, from a single pocket of 2018 that came out at the Munich show of that year, this would make for a strong addition to any competitive thumbnail suite, in part because it is so good that it is hard to recognize. I expect most people would see the label and the eyes would catch on the word "Tanzania" so that the brain follows with "Oh, what a weird Tanzanite..." until further inspection proves otherwise.
