Gemmy, blue-green Scorodite crystals grace the top of a gossan matrix with Pyrite from the Ojuela Mine, Mexico. Numerous, glassy, gem Scorodite crystals from 0.1 to 0.7cm nearly cover the display side of this piece and make it scintillate! All of the crystals here are transparent, more rarely translucent, and display great luster. Most of the crystals lay somewhat flat on the matrix with some having good three dimensionality to them. There is a yellow-tan box work of fine-grained Scorodite on one side of the display surface and an earthy, fine-grained brown Goethite matrix on the other side. The backside of the piece reveals abundant Pyrite and some Goethite. Rare old classic!
