Finds from 2011-2015 at Huanggang produced what are considered to be the world's finest Lollingites, which are a generally rare species of Fe-arsenide related to Arsenopyrite. Most places, they are reference level - but from here, they are showcase specimens in their own right. This sculptural specimen is pure Lollingite, with the complex crystal aggregates forming brilliant, metallic, elongated "plumes." The largest of these is an impressive 5.5 cm tall. The piece is a stunning example of world-class crystallization for Lollingite, and the silvery crystals can be viewed equally well from both sides. Such dramatic, 3-dimensional aesthetics are quite unusual for Lollingite. Even better in person, as the high metallic luster makes it tricky to photograph. This is a hefty, 3-dimensional, volumetric specimen that has impact on any shelf.
