Azurite and Duftite

Miniature, 4.3 x 2.8 x 2.8 cm

Out of the famous John Barlow Collection, this distinguished 1.7 cm Azurite rises above a matrix coated with green Duftite. This thick, chisel-point Azurite has very good luster with interesting and attractive ridges along the faces. As is often the case, this soft mineral does have a bit of wear along the termination, but the overall aesthetics are minimally affected. The color contrast and mineralogical interest between the Azurite and the Duftite are good, and the geometry of the piece is elegant in its simplicity. A very nice miniature.
