Ojuela Mine, Mapimi, Durango, Mexico
Small Cabinet, 7.0 x 6.6 x 4.2 cm
SOLD
A sculptural cluster of botryoidal mottramite from the famous 2011 find at the Ojuela Mine in Mexico. Tsumeb was the prestigious locality for the species for many decades until this significant find. This piece consists of rich, matte green, stacked and clumped botryoids of mottramite that are selectively highlighted with green-yellow. This is a large, showy piece of rounded mottramite growths covering a rusty brown gossan matrix. The piece is nearly pristine with only one tiny bruise.
