Surprisingly unusual, semicircular, radial fibrous cluster of goethite on microcline crystals from the pegmatites of Volodarsk in the Ukraine! Although renowned for large heliodor, topaz and quartz crystals, this pegmatite field has also produced some unusual accessory species and this goethite is a prime example! The semicircular cluster is composed of zillions of bronze-yellow goethite fibers in dramatic radial divergence nicely composed on whitish to pale-pink microcline. The surface of the goethite is almost felt-like. We've seen some goethites from here, but this find of 2015 had probably the most unique, most remarkable and impressive ones, especially with microcline in association.
