The White Caps Mine of Nevada is well-known for the finest Stibnites found in North America. Specimens were rare at the time, and are even harder to come by now - this is a competition-worthy example from this old classic locality, and among the finest American-origin examples of the species one can own. This three-dimensional small cab is exceptional in every way, with crystals that reach 4.2 cm. It is dramatic and sculptural, with brilliant, metallic crystals that have a gorgeous, light, silvery-blue patina. Specimens of this size, richness and quality are rarely available and are highly desired. The mine produced intermittently from 1865 to about 1958. From Scott Williams, Feb 1961 at Tucson, shortly after the mine had closed for good. This is an amazing, beautiful piece - hard to believe it is from the USA !
