Helvite from the Huanggang mining complex has really redefined the species, and standards for what collectors can expect. Large, pointy crystals of pseudo-triangular shapes are all over the market and I have also had many in the past. These flooded the market from 2012-2015 and then tapered off, with few being found anymore. However, this was somewhat of an oddity, which came out of a straggler pocket found in 2016. I purchased this in China last year. It features a hemispherical, lustrous, ball of small helvites, grown together and accented with contrasting quartz. Highly unusual, and unlike others I have seen around. Complete, except only one small contact at bottom of the ball.
