Pyrolusite Var. Polianite
Harz, Lower Saxony, Germany
Small Cabinet, 8.6 x 6.5 x 6.5 cm
Ex. Giancarlo Fioravanti
SOLD
An unusual and quite rich specimen consisting of dense clusters of botryoidal Polianite. I have not seen such a nice example before. These dark grey, metallic, grape-like clusters are quite distinctive and attractive in their own way. Polianite is actually the variety of Pyrolucite that is a pseudomorph after Manganite (all are related to one another as species). The individual clusters range up to 2.7 cm. A good specimen from the Harz region in Saxony, Germany. Ex. Mazzalino collection, 1966
