Some of the most aesthetic and displayable specimens of Wavellite have come from the Siglo XX mine in Bolivia as described by Mark Bandy. This specimen is from a brand new find of this material, and literally came out of the ground a few months ago. This piece features several superb, rare, yellow colored, sphere-shaped radiating aggregates measuring up to 13 mm across associated with prismatic Quartz crystals on matrix. The quality of the Wavellite spheres is pretty good, especially when compared to finds from the last 15 years at Siglo XX. I have to stress that 99% of the Wavellites from this mine are essentially white/colorless and to find anything with color is incredibly rare, especially in spheres this size. A nice display specimen of an uncommon mineral. Ex. Brian Kosnar.
