Scorodite, Ferberite
Hemerdon Mine (Hemerdon Bal Mine; Hemerdon Ball Mine), Plympton, Tavistock District, Devon, England, UK
Small Cabinet, 6.1 x 5.2 x 4.3 cm
A rich English scorodite from older finds here, not from the rediscovered pockets in the late 1990s. This is a very, very hefty specimen because it is solid wolframite matrix, with a thin rind of quartz underlying the sparkly sheet of brilliant, lustrous, microcrystalline scorodite that completely covers one display face.
