Pinite is not a valid species but is rather a mixture of other rockforming species that replace certain silicate minerals, such as cordierite in particular. This is, I am told, a really really good and not-as-ugly-as-usual specimen of incredibly large cordierite crystals replaced by this mix of mica and other minerals, Neat old label, too! 15 x 10.6 x 9.3 cm
