Infiernillos mine, Machacamarca District (Colavi District), Cornelio Saavedra Province, Potosi Department, Bolivia
Cabinet, 13.5 x 12.3 x 9.1 cm
SOLD
This phosphophyllite specimen is from a brand new find for the species in the Machacamarca mining district in Bolivia. It is not from the typical locality at the Unificada mine in Potosi. It features dozens of exceptionally rare, translucent, green color (partially iron-coated), euhedral crystals with "butterfly"-twins measuring up to 13 mm on metamorphosed sandstone matrix.
