Galkhaite
Getchell Mine, Adam Peak, Potosi District, Humboldt Co., Nevada, USA
Small Cabinet, 7.3 x 3.8 x 2.0 cm
SOLD
Lustrous, rust-red galkhaite cubes to 3 mm on a nicely contrasting gray, drusy quartz-covered matrix with an unknown yellow-green mineral from the famous Getchell Mine of Nevada. Galkhaite is a very rare cesium, thallium, mercury sulfide. A rare and very rich specimen for the species out of an old stash that came to light in the early 90s. I am told they were mined in the early 1980s.
